My Trips

Since I was young, I had always dreamed of visiting the United States. In 2006, my dream became a reality when I traveled from Bangalore to Dallas, Texas for a work project. During my visit, I was able to explore some of the most vibrant and dynamic cities in the world, as well as witness breathtaking landscapes. I found the people to be friendly and welcoming, making my experience unforgettable. Since my first trip, I have been fortunate enough to return to the US several times for various reasons, including business, training, and sightseeing. Each visit has allowed me to discover new aspects of this fascinating country.

Steps

  • Go to https://www.ustraveldocs.com/qa/en/ and find out the visa requirement and type of visa.
  • The B-1/B-2 visitor visa is for people traveling to the United States temporarily for business (B-1) or for pleasure or medical treatment (B-2). Generally, the B-1 visa is for travelers consulting with business associates, attending scientific, educational, professional or business conventions/conferences, settling an estate or negotiating contracts. The B-2 visa is for travel that is recreational in nature, including tourism, visits with friends or relatives, medical treatment and activities of a fraternal, social or service nature. Often, the B-1 and B-2 visas are combined and issued as one visa: the B-1/B-2.
  • Recent digital passport size photos are required to be submitted online. Take them from a studio and remember to get the soft copy in USA format. Test it at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html to make sure the format, size, etc are correct.
  • Gather all required data:
    • Passport info

    • There is a lot of questions to be answered and data to be provided. It is possible to save whatever data we already entered and then come back to it later.
    • After completing the form, the final step will show a review. Take printout of the completed form and save as PDF for referring later.
    • Next page will display a confirmation. Take a printout of this and save as PDF. This is required for visa interview and the Confirmation number is required for paying fees.
    • If there are dependents, look for another button to add dependent application. It will start a new application linked to the first. Complete the application for dependents as well if applying visas together (Separate application for each passport)
